St. Edburg’s Christmas Tree Festival
Once again St. Edburg’s Church welcomed the community into the church for the Christmas Tree Festival. Our beautiful medieval church became a forest of eighty decorated trees for three days. Live music was performed throughout by local musicians, a very popular cafe ran for the whole weekend with families encouraged to take part in a tree hunt, with chocolates as a reward at the end. Visitors had the opportunity to hang prayers and thoughts on the Prayer and Memorial Trees provided by the church. The Festival closed with the now well established “Carols in the Trees” on the Sunday evening. The trees were all sponsored and decorated by individuals, community groups and local businesses.
As a first in 2019 a 'Christmas hamper' raffle was arranged with a total of six (6) hampers as prizes.
