Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

It was announced in all churches across the Bicester Team yesterday that I will be leaving Bicester this summer to join the senior staff team in Exeter Diocese.

Moving on is always heart wrenching and I will miss Bicester, the amazing people here and Oxford Diocese – though I am also excited about the pending move and the new chapter in my ministry that lies ahead.

This is link to the announcement:

Please pray for St Edburg’s and the Bicester Team, and for my family as we prepare for the move.

God bless

Revd Canon Verena Breed,

Team Rector

This formal announcement was made across the Bicester Team during the morning services on Sunday 11th April.

“The Revd Canon Verena Breed is to be the next Archdeacon of Barnstaple, the Church of England’s most senior member of the clergy in North Devon.
The Barnstaple Archdeaconry has 149 churches across North Devon.
The Bishop of Exeter, the Right Revd Robert Atwell, said “I am delighted that Verena Breed has accepted my invitation to join us in Devon as the next Archdeacon of Barnstaple. She brings with her a wealth of experience, both of rural ministry on the edge of the Peak District and more recently as Team Rector of Bicester.”
Verena will leave Bicester at the end of July and begin her new role in September at a service led by the Bishop of Exeter.”

We are sad to be saying goodbye to Verena, but delighted that her great gifts have been recognised with this appointment. Congratulations!!!

From the 28th March (Palm Sunday) services will be live streamed from within the Church with a limited congregation (pre-booked via the Church office)

The 10:00 Wednesday service will remain as a 'virtual' service.

The Church will remain open for private prayer on a Thursday and a Saturday between the hour of 10:00 - 11:00. Stewards will be on hand to offer assistance as required.

During these trying times the Events Committee continues to work hard at putting on a range of Virtual Events.  For details please see our 'Virtual Services' tab below.
